# Nymwell docs

Nymwell is a domain registrar for people and their AI agents. Searching names and prices needs no account and no key. Buying needs the person: they sign in with Google and pay every checkout themselves.

## Three ways in

## Quickstart

### 1. Search

Every name comes back with `available`. A name you can register has `tier` (`standard` or `premium`), a first-term price, a renewal price and a `buy_url`:

A name you can't register has a `reason` instead, such as `domain_unavailable` or `extension_not_supported`. All the values are in [Statuses and errors](https://nymwell.com/en/docs/reference/).

### 2. Hand over the buy link

Give the person `buy_url`. They sign in with Google, see the price held for 40 minutes, add who the domain is registered to the first time, and pay by card on Stripe Checkout. The domain is then registered without anything more from you.

### 3. Or connect an agent

For an agent that should also quote, renew, transfer or prepare DNS changes, connect an MCP client to `https://nymwell.com/mcp/account`. The person signs in with Google once and allows it. See [MCP and sign-in](https://nymwell.com/en/docs/mcp/).

## What always holds

- Nothing is bought without the person paying a checkout. An agent can't pay, approve, or see card numbers.
- DNS, contact, nameserver and other domain changes wait for an owner or admin to approve them.
- Prices are in USD from a live registrar. The price shown first is the first term; the renewal price is what later terms cost. Tell the person both.
- `GET https://nymwell.com/api/v1/status` says what is live right now.
